The Tanzania Transit Visa is intended for travellers who are passing through Tanzania on their way to another country. It should not be used for tourism or other activities. The official guidance states that a Transit Visa is issued for a period not exceeding seven days and requires an onward ticket and, where applicable, a visa or other proof of permission to enter the destination country. The current standard fee is US$30. Before travelling, check your itinerary carefully. If you plan to leave the airport, stay for several days, or actually visit Tanzania, a different visa category may be required.
